- The procurement action was conducted under FAR 6.302-1 with authority of 41 U.S.C. §3304(c) 1, as the only responsible source and no other suppliers or services satisfy tower requirements. Department of Commerce ('DOC'), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration ('NOAA') awarded a sole source lease for approximately 5.5 acres of land located at the Brown County Austin Straubel International Airport at Private Claim 31, West Side of Fox River, Village of Ashwaubenon, Brown County, WI used for the installation and operation of a National Weather Service (NWS) Upper Air Inflation Building. NWS weather balloons provide upper air data essential for weather forecasts and research. This award to Brown County Austin Straubel International Airport was to fulfill the requirement of National Weather Service ('NWS') to provide weather forecast information to the Village of Ashwaubenon, Austin Straubel International Airport and the surrounding communities.
