- Description
- Provide Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) licensed aircraft mechanics to perform maintenance on Government aircraft at the U.S.F.S. Regional Air Group Hangar located in Redmond, Oregon. The contractor shall furnish all personnel, hand tools, with current calibration such as hand scales, torque wrenches etc. (OEM specialized tooling is provided by the Government) to complete maintenance and repair services as tasked under this contract. The USDA Forest Service operates four Shorts C-23A Sherpa aircraft (SD3-30 VAR 200-39 Max operating weight 23,000 lbs). The aircraft are complex multi engine jet-prop aircraft with PT6A-45R free turbine engines which drive five-bladed hartzell propellers. The USDA Forest Service maintenance program is based on an MSG-2 analysis modified by seventeen years of operational experience. The avionics consists of Collins suite with Garmin radios.
