- SCOPE OF WORK PROJECT #190 RELOCATE SMOKE SHELTER The scope of work shall generally consist of, but not necessarily be limited to, providing all labor, material, tools, equipment, permits, testing, and reports required to relocating a Smoke Shelter that is adjacent to parking Lot N at the Wilkes-Barre VA Medical Center. All work on this project must be performed between 7 am and 5 pm Monday through Friday. Any work determined by the COTR as having a significant impact on the daily operations of the facility shall be conducted on an after-hours schedule. All work shall be performed in accordance with the plans and specifications. All federal, state, and local code/regulations/standards shall be followed. The Work shall consist of the following: 1.Relocate the Smoke Shelter that is adjacent to parking Lot N will need to be relocated to a court yard adjacent to parking Lot J. The area selected shall be approved by the VA Project Manager prior to the start of construction. 2.Excavate and backfill as needed to prepare for a concrete slab on grade. 3.Placement of a six inch depth cast in place concrete slab (3500psi) with 6x6 Welded Wire Fabric reinforcement to support the Smoke Shelter. The concrete slab shall allow positive drainage away from the smoke shelter. 4.Placement of six inch depth cast in place concrete (3500 psi) sidewalk connecting the existing sidewalk to the Smoke Shelter. There will be the removal of an existing 3'x12' sidewalk. The sidewalk shall adhere to American Disability Act accessibility requirements. 5.Dismantle an existing smoke Shelter and move to a new location and re-assemble the Smoking Shelter in that new location. It will be the responsibility of the contractor, for any and/or all material that is need it for the re-assemble of the Smoke Shelter. The contractor will be reasonable that the structure is weather tight from all of the elements. 6.Grade and seed the surround work area to allow for positive drainage.
