Description
The US Army Tank Automotive Research, Development and Engineering Center (TARDEC) Ground Vehicle Robotics (GVR) is conducting a market survey to identify the status of state-of-the-art autostereoscopic display (3D display without glasses) technology, especially with the capability to autonomously vary the location of the "eye box" based on a single user's head position as they move. In doing so, TARDEC is requesting a detailed breakdown of the cost, schedule and logistics necessary to mature an autonomously adjustable autostereoscopic display system to the provided threshold requirements. The intent of the market survey is to gather information to assess the potential for TARDEC to obtain an autonomously adjustable autostereoscopic display system with the capabilities of meeting and/or exceeding the threshold requirements, identified in Appendix A, that will successfully complete component-level maturation testing and integration/system level testing on a vehicle demonstrator. The data gathered in the market survey will help determine if a follow-on Request for Proposal (RFP) is feasible at this time. Full desrciption and submission requirements are in the attached RFI and Appendix A. RESPONSES: Responses include three documents (at a minimum): 1) System description with component, 2) System costs (contractor format acceptable), 3) Requirements compliance (Appendix A) and 4) IMS showing development plan. Responses are requested no later than 30 days after announcement post. The Government will begin technology analysis in the short term following the 30 day submission period. Please address any questions regarding this market survey via email to matt.deminico@us.army.mil; include name, phone number and email address for a response. Questions may be answered via email or phone.
