Description
Lab Tour Announcement Lab Tour of the Warfighter Interface Division Labs in AFRL at WPAFB OH, is in support of anticipated acquisition, Human Interface Research and Technology (HIRT) Program. This new effort is for research to be performed in the following technical areas: battlespace acoustics, battlespace visualization, supervisory control and cognition, and applied neuroscience and aerospace physiology. Battlespace acoustics researches revolutionary auditory displays and interface systems to optimize human performance and communication. The battlespace vision area develops technologies and performs studies to enhance human cognitive abilities through the visual channel with emphasis on information fusion and information visualization. Supervisory control and cognition researches technologies to improve human interaction with automation and the associated visualizations. The applied nerusocience area focuses on neuroscience and physiological research to sense individual and team cognitive states, assess the states relative to performance as well as augment performance in real time to optimize mission effectivenesss. Aerospace physiology focuses on research and modeling to evaluate the performance and safety of human interfaces targeted for use in biodynamic environments encountered during ground, air, and space operations.
