- Product Manager Soldier Maneuver Sensors Industry Day Announcement. Solicitation Number: W91CRB-12-FWS Agency: Department of the Army Office: Army Contracting Command Location: Aberdeen Proving Ground DATE: 26 April 2012 Solicitation Number: W91CRB-12-FWS Notice Type: Special Notice Synopsis: Product Manager Soldier Maneuver Sensors(PM SMS) Industry Day: PM SMS will conduct an Industry Day on 26 April 2012. The Industry Day will be held virtually using the web-based conferencing tool called Defense Connect Online (https://www.dco.dod.mil/) from 1000 to 1130 EST. The focus of this event is to provide an overview of the PM SMS organization and products and an update on the latest PM SMS planning regarding the Enhanced Night Vision Goggle (ENVG) and Family of Weapon Sight (FWS) programs. The DCO website utilizes a voice-over-internet (voip) protocol so all participants will be able to hear the briefing and see the presentation material as it is being presented. A question and answer tool will allow participants to submit questions throughout the briefing and during a designated Q&A period at the end of the event. Questions may also be provided prior to the conference by email to the PM SMS Technical Point of Contacts (POCs) listed below. Attendance is limited to U.S. Department of Defense personnel and U.S. Department of Defense contractors, and exceptions as approved by PM SMS. Those companies interested in attending the conference should submit an "Attend PM SMS Industry Day Conference" email to the Administrative POC not later than 23 April 2012. Because this event will be held virtually, there is no limit to the number of attendees. If your organization intends to establish a conference room connection supporting multiple employees, please provide a primary point of contact and a list of the secondary points of contact that are expecting to participate in the event. If you are not a U.S. Department of Defense or U.S. Department of Defense contractor, indicate that you are requesting an exception to the attendance criteria. A confirmation of registration for the event, to include directions regarding Defense Connect Online and a connectivity test, will be provided by email by 23 April 2012. To enhance the PM SMS Industry Day, a follow-on workshop will be held using DCO from 1300 to 1500 EST entitled "WPAN for the Soldier". The focus of this event is to provide a forum for interested parties to discuss wireless solutions for the individual Solider and his equipment. This is commonly referred to as WPAN or Wireless Personal Area Network. PM SMS will host the event and Natick Soldier Center will present the status of their Soldier Planning Interfaces and Networked Electronics (SPINE) program. Additionally, other interested parties will be provided up to 30 minutes to present the community their perspective on the topic including product and service offerings. This is meant as an opportunity to provide the Government and industry partners with substantive information regarding WPAN solutions and not simply advertise a company or product. The length of the conference and/or available timeslots may be adjusted at PM SMS's discretion based upon the number of requests received. Parties interested in a briefing timeslot are requested to indicate their intent as soon as possible. Parties intending to brief will need to confirm their intent and provide briefing slides in electronic form no later than 19 April to the PM SMS Technical Points of Contact. Briefings must be unclassified and distributable to all participants with no requirement for Non-disclosure Agreements (NDAs). PM SMS will host a wrap-up session including a path forward discussion immediately following the wireless briefings. All questions and answers from the Product Manager Soldier Maneuver Sensors(PM SMS) Industry Day and WPAN for the Soldier workshop, and attendee lists, will be posted to XX within 30 days of the event.
