Description
Bear Canyon Bear Canyon RD 455 Lochsa Thin Cedar Brush Idaho-Montana Acquisition Team (IMAT) Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests AG-02RC-S-12-0061 This pre-solicitation notice is for road decommissioning services. The Government may add to, remove, change, or keep as-is the list of potential decommissioning projects, as noted below. The Government may award one or more then one contract per this pre-solicitation notice. It is anticipated the solicitation documentation may be posted to the FBO on approximately April 20, 2012. Potential Government contractors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration database (https://www.bpn.gov/ccr/default.aspx) as well as have a valid profile in the Online Representations and Certifications website (https://orca.bpn.gov/) BEAR CANYON ROAD DECOMMISSIONING: Work consists of decommissioning approximately 8-10 miles of road. Road decommissioning treatments range from drainage structure removal to strong outslopes to complete recontouring. Roadways will be decompacted as described in worklists. All fill material in draws will be removed and stream channels restored to natural grade and dimensions. All disturbed areas will be seeded. In addition, native forbs and shrubs will be transplanted from areas adjacent to the road. Grade control structures will be constructed in newly reconstructed stream channels. The project is located approximately 30 miles northeast of Kooskia, Idaho. From Kooskia travel east on Highway 12 to MP 88 and road junction 101. Travel northeast on FS Road 101 to MP 14 and road 5506. This is the beginning of the project area. CEDAR BRUSH ROAD DECOMMISSIONING: The Cedar Brush Road Decomissioning project consists of decommissioning approximately 10-12 miles of road. Road decommissioning treatments range from drainage structure removal to strong outslopes to complete recontouring. Roadways will be decompacted as described in worklists. All fill material in draws will be removed and stream channels restored to natural grade and dimensions. All disturbed areas will be seeded. In addition, native forbs and shrubs will be transplanted from areas adjacent to the road. Grade control structures will be constructed in newly reconstructed stream channels. The project is located northeast of Kooskia, Idaho. From Kooskia travel East on Highway 12 for 14.5 miles to the junction of road 101 (Smith Creek). Turn north on Smith Creek and travel for 25.3 miles to the junction with the 445 road. Turn South on the 445 road and travel for 1.0 miles to the junction with the 5542 road. Turn north on the 5542 road and travel for 2.4 miles to the junction of the 5544 an travel 1.3 miles and beginning of the project area. LOCHSA THIN ROAD DECOMMISSIONING: The Lochsa Thin Road Decomissioning project consists of decommissioning approximately 6-9 miles of road. Road decommissioning will consist of complete recontouring with drainage structures being pulled. Roadways will be decompacted as described in worklists. All fill material in draws will be removed and stream channels restored to natural grade and dimensions. All disturbed areas will be seeded. In addition, native forbs and shrubs will be transplanted from areas adjacent to the road. Grade control structures will be constructed in newly reconstructed stream channels. The project is located northeast of Kamiah, Idaho. From Kamiah travel East on Highway 12 for 1.5 miles to the junction of Woodland road. Turn north on Woodland road and travel for 0.5 miles to the junction with the 100 road. Turn North on the 100 road and travel for 22.75 miles to the junction with the 500 road. Turn east on the 500 road and beginning of the project area. NLF ROAD 445 DECOMMISSIONING: Project consists of decommissioning approximately 0.84 miles of road. The roadwidth ranges from 24 feet to 35 feet wide with large fills. The roads shall be decommissionned by recontouring. Roadways and landings will be decompacted as described in worklists. All fill material in draws will be removed and stream channels restored to natural grade and dimensions. This will require hauling excessive material away to approved waste sites. The waste sites require some preparatory work with post haul shaping and cleaning. All disturbed areas will be seeded on recontoured roadbed and waste sites. In addition, native forbs and shrubs will be transplanted from areas adjacent to the recontroured roadbed. Grade control structures will be constructed in newly reconstructed stream channels. The project is located northeast of Kooskia, Idaho. From Kooskia travel East on Highway 12 for 14.5 miles to the junction of FS Road 101 (Smith Creek). Road 445 junctions road 101 at milepost 21.3 and at milepost 25.8. Waste areas are along the 101 road between these two mileposts.
