- The USGS has a requirement for 1 Each Simrad EK60 Split Beam 38-120kHZ Echosounder Hydroacoustics System (Brand Name or Equal).Other responsible sources may submit a quote in accordance with FAR 52.211-6 (Aug 1999) no later than the closing date of this announcement at 1400 Pacific Savings Time. As required by FAR 5.101(a)(1), the forthcoming solicitation (G12PS00269) will be made available through the GPE on or about April 13, 2012. All responses must be in writing by hard copy to the Contract Specialist by e-mail to tpeck@usgs.gov. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS 1)Dual frequency (38 & 120 kHz) split beam scientific hydroacoustics system 2)System must be able to sample at 38 and 120 kHz frequencies simultaneously; i.e., the same parcel of water is ensonified and echo-integrated by both frequencies at the same time. 3)Independent transceivers for each frequency. 4)System must be able to provide data that is compatible with Echo View software used for marine fisheries acoustic survey data being gathered from NOAA vessels in Alaska. 5)Transducers must be able to be both hull mounted and portable for towed applications.
