Description
In accordance with the FAA Acquisition Management System paragraph 3.2.2.4, the purpose of this announcement is to inform industry of the basis of the FAA's decision to contract with a selected source via single source procedures. In accordance with the FAA Acquisition Management System paragraph 3.2.2.4, the purpose of this announcement is to inform industry of the basis of the FAA's decision to contract with a selected source via single source procedures. The Navigation Services, Lighting System Team (AJW-9142) has a requirement to procure 40 Remote Radio Control System (RRCS) Transmitters, 40 RRCS Antennas and 32 MALSR Switching Assemblies to be installed in Airport Traffic Control Towers (ATCTs) for control of on-airport Medium Intensity Approach Lighting System with Runway Alignment Indicator Lights (MALSR) and Precision Approach Path Indicator (PAPI) equipment. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) intends to award a single source contract to New Bedford Panoramex (NBP) Corporation, 1480 North Claremont Blvd., Claremont, California 91711. NBP Corp. is the only source that manufactures FAA standard RRCS equipment that meets FAA Specification FAA-E-2723 certification. The procurement of the RRCS equipment from NBP guarantees the technical integrity and standardization of the NAS requirements. The FAA must continue to establish and sustain standard RRCS equipment in the National Airspace System (NAS) to continue supporting CAT 1 landings. This announcement is for informational purposes only, not a Solicitation/Request for Proposal. A full and open competition is not available for this procurement. If your firm does not agree with the single source determination, please provide evidence of your firm's capabilities and experience in providing similar services and the FAA will evaluate this accordingly. All responses to this announcement must be directed to Samantha Williams, Contracting Officer (202)267-9653, samantha.e.williams@faa.gov by 3:00 P.M. EST 4/11/2012.
