Description
The PMW-205 (Naval Enterprise Networks) Technical Data Research Facilities(TDRFACs) were established to provide industry offerors with equitable accessto all licensed Navy and Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI) technical data developedby the incumbent in support of the existing enterprise network environment. Inorder to gain access to this corpus of intellectual property (IP) data, individual industry representatives are vetted for requisite clearancerequirements and non-disclosure agreements. Once vetted, the TDRFACs providecleared Industry Representatives with read-only access to unclassified NMCI andgovernment developed information. These facilities enable Industry to viewdata that is relevant to the Next Generation Enterprise Network (NGEN) Requestfor Proposal (RFP). Additionally, the Government understands the need to efficiently mine andanalyze NMCI Intellectual Property (IP) to further understand the currententerprise network operational environment. Keeping this need in mind, PMW-205is currently integrating a world class data mining tool into each TDRFAC. Thetool, Vivisimo Velocity, is a leading Information Optimization platform thatprovides result-clustering, textual analysis, visualization and collaborativefeatures; such as social tagging, comments, and user ratings. IndustryRepresentatives will be able to search through the large volume of data in theTDRFACs and refine their searches with the use of detailed metadata. Industrycan also make comments and save favorites that can be shared with theircolleagues privately and securely within the facility. Vivisimo Velocity isintegrated with Microsoft Active Directory, allowing for tightly controlledsecurity groups and permissions. PMW-205 anticipates this new capability to be operational in the facilities on,or about, April 2, 2012.
