- Description
- NASA/LARC has a requirement for Sensors and Components to support research anddevelopment of Vehicle Health Monitoring Systems.NASA/LARC intends to purchase the items from Digital Wave Corporation. Digital Wave isthe manufacturer and only supplier of the required sensors and components that arecompatible with existing NASA owned Digital Wave equipment. The required sensors are theonly certified sensors for flight and it would take substantial duplication of resourcesand time for another source to provide similar sensors, and this additional expense isnot expected to be recovered through competition. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 12:30 p.m. local timeon 04/11/2012.Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purposeof determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. Adetermination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and opencompetition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretionof the government.Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.NASA Clause 1852.215-84, Ombudsman, is applicable.
