Description
This solicitation is a total small business set aside. The requirement is for a ALZET Micro-Osmotic Pump Model 1004, which is being solicited as a brand name. The minimum essential characteristics are: Minimum Essential Physical, Functional and Performance Characteristics for implantable osmotic pumps. Must comply with the following minimum essential characteristics: Must be cylindrical in shape, 1.5 cm long, 0.6 cm diameter, 0.4 g weight, with a total displaced volume of 0.5 ml Must have a flow moderator 1.3 cm long, 21 gauge, OD 0.08 cm, ID 0.05 cm, weight 0.05g o Flange material must be styrene acrylonitrile o Tube material must be stainless steel 304 Must have a fill tube 1.1 cm long, 27 gauge, O.D. 0.04 cm, ID 0.02 cm Pump body out membrane must be cellulose ester blend Pump body drug reservoir must be thermoplastic hydrocarbon elastomer Must be able to be implanted subcutaneously in mice as small as 10g and intraperitoneal in mice as small as 20g Nominal pumping rate must be 0.11 ul per hour Nominal duration must be 4 weeks Nominal reservoir volume must be 100 l Must be sterile Pump must be compatible with DMSO, up to 50% in water After priming, pumps must operate at a constant rate for about 95% of its delivered volume Coefficient of variation on the infusion rate must be less than 10%
