Description
This is an intent to award sole source notification. An authorized source of repair is required to work on the Engine Bleed Air Distribution System(EBADS) Ducts for the B-1B aircraft. Part Numbers listed for repair include #1807447-103 & #1807447-104. The repair will be done according to authorized procedures already in place set forth from OC-ALC and technical data. The EBADS Duct repair is a particularly challenging refurbishment procedure requiring specialized stress relieving techniques. In order to qualify, a potential source of this refurbishment/repair must produce a qualification test article that meets the following requirements: a. Proof Pressure Test - Holds a hydrostatic pressure of 250 psig at room temperature for 5min. No leakage or permanent deformation allowed. b. Burst Pressure Test - Holds a hydrostatic pressure of 375 psig at room termperature for 5min. No leakage allowed. c. Metallurgical Analysis - Undergoes a metallurgical analysis for weld quality and the presence of titanium hydrides. Aircraft Ducting Repair, Inc (Cage=8E326) meets the repair requirements specified in Technical Data 1B-1B-21GS-00-1 and therefore the only qualified contractor to perform these specific repairs to EBADS duct assemblies installed on the B-1B aircraft. A justification and approval document will be posted on or about 6 April 2012. Any interested parties should contact 2Lt Seth Klint by e-mail Seth.Klint@ellsworth.af.mil or call (605) 385-1747.
