- Description
- 1. Perform power system operations and maintenance for the Nevada National Security Site (NNSS) electric transmission and distribution system. The NNSS encompasses 1,165 square miles with an on-site electric transmission and distribution system consisting of 100 miles of 138 kV line, one 138 kV switching station, six 138/34.5 kV substations, approximately 100 distribution substations, and approximately 600 miles of 34.5,12.5 and 4.160 kV lines. Any resultant solicitation may include the following to be performed: a. Inspect and test electrical transmission and distribution system components including: Switchgear, Transformers, Circuit Breakers, Feeders, Switches, Relays, Overhead and Transmission and Distribution Lines (138 kV, 69 kV, 34.5 kV, 12.47 kV, and 4.16 kv) Lines, and Underground distribution lines. b. Diagnose problems if and when the power system outages occur and take corrective actions. c. Work with the electric service provider to ensure the base keeps its power system operational. d. Perform various minor construction tasks if and when the power system needs to be changed. e. Must have licensed electricians with proper PPE that are qualified to work with high voltage equipment.2. The duration of this contract including options is anticipated to be 5 years.3. This synopsis does not constitute a request for proposal. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this announcement. 4. Responses should include a narrative identifying similar work contracted for within the past (3) years,describe capabilities to perform the services described in the synopsis, and include references for each contract. Ensure responses are sufficiently detailed to ascertain qualifications.5. Contractors must identify their business type [SDB, 8a, etc.] The responses will serve as a basis for the Government's decision to establish the requirement as an 8(a), small business set-aside, or full and open competition.
