- The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center located at Veterans Way and Lamont Street in Mountain Home, TN has a requirement for the following work in accordance with specifications and drawings: Construction Project 621-12-157 Increase Emergency Generation Capacity, Building 200. The Design/Build Project will install two (2) 1000kW emergency generators to increase the emergency generation capacity. There will be a need for new switchgear, control panel and automatic transfer switching equipment, modification of existing equipment, new feeder cable, new fuel oil system, other electrical work, modifications to the equipment room. Project will also retrofit two (2) existing 500kW emergency generators to individual portable (trailer mounted) units. The construction cost range is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. A 20% Bid Bond must be submitted with your bid if it exceeds $150,000. THIS PROCUREMENT IS 100% SET ASIDE FOR SERVICE DISABLED VETERAN OWNED SMALL BUSINESS (SDVOSB) CONTRACTORS. SDVOSB contractors must be verified and visible in VETBIZ (www.vip.vettbiz.gov) prior to submission of bid and prior to award of contract. Construction by special trade contractors, at least 25 percent of the cost of the contract performance incurred for personnel will be spent on the concern's employees or the employees of other eligible service-disabled veteran-owned small business concerns. Contractors must register at www.ccr.gov; https://orca.bpn.gov; and https://vets100.vets.dol.gov to be eligible for award. All registrations must be up-to-date and correct. The North American Industrial Classification Standard (NAICS) code is 238120 with the small business size standard of $14.0 million. ORCA must reflect a small business size certification for the NAICS code noted herein. Solicitation is to be posted to FEDBIZOPPS website (www.fedbizopps.gov) o/a April 17, 2012 with bids due o/a May 17, 2012. Paper solicitation will not be issued. Contractors must obtain solicitation, specifications, drawings and amendments (if issued) from this website. Bidders are reminded that they are responsible for obtaining and acknowledging all amendments to the solicitation prior to time for bid opening or with their sealed bid.
