- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) Contracting Office intends to issue a sole source award to Lafarge North America, Inc., 12018 Sunrise Valley Dr. Ste 500, Reston, VA 20191-3434, for the purchase of six Ductal Wall Panels. The government has a requirement for six Ductal Wall Panels for research and development testing for ultra high performance concretes and specifically comparing Ductal to other UHPCs being tested. The material properties and strength characteristics of the Ductal material are proprietary to Lafarge. Lafarge North America is the manufacturer and sole provider of Ductal to North American customers. The Government intends to procure from only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii)(A), Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. This will be a commercial acquisition using contracting by negotiation procedures per FAR Part 15. This is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation is available. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation to the Contract Specialist by 9:00 AM CST, Monday, April 16, 2012.
