- Some items addressed at the site visit were described as optional, Those items are no longer optional. The following has been decided: • The intercom needs to be built into the wall. • Utilize existing CAT5 Cabling. • Auto answer is required. Push to talk is no longer being considered. The following items were explained at the site visit that are not optional: • The intercom system will not have phone usability. It is strictly an intercom system. • Two way communication is required of each unit. • Do not relocate the site of the intercom units. The replacement system will be in the same spot where each handset is now. • Do not integrate the hall speakers. • The ceiling speaker that some rooms have is not to be touched. The in wall unit should have a mic and a speaker which is the only speaker we need attached to the unit. There were also some points explained that have changed. • The existing outside speakers no longer need to be compatible with the new system. Those are entirely separate and will not be touched for any reason. Completely disregard the outside intercom system, it has nothing to do with this requirement.
