- Request for Information Background and Description for Contractor and Carpet Installers. This Request for Information (RFI) is limited to contractor and carpet installers of broadloom, carpet tiles, and 6-foot goods. RFI responses from carpet manufacturers or manufacturers, dealers, or wholesalers of other flooring material will not be reviewed. Specifically, contractor and carpet installers with a NAICS Code of 238330, 236220 and/or 442210 should respond. DESCRIPTION The Enterprise Sourcing Group (ESG) Furnishings Commodity Council (FCC) is exploring the status, capacity and capability of businesses that furnish, install and remove broadloom, carpet tiles, and 6-foot goods. This RFI may be followed by a Request for Proposal (RFP). All interested industry partners are strongly encouraged to submit information supporting this request. Past ESG RFI's have factored heavily in strategy creation. If you are an interested source, please complete the attached questionnaire http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/DLKYNRF. Completing this survey will provide the name, phone number, and e-mail address of a company representative that the Government may contact for additional information. BACKGROUND The Enterprise Sourcing Group (ESG) located at Wright Patterson AFB, OH is responsible for enterprise level strategic sourcing. The ESG is the Air Force's centralized organization for executing enterprise-wide strategic sourcing for installation goods and services. ESG utilizes strategic sourcing best practices to continually improve and re-evaluate organizational purchasing activities as well as to improve quality and reduce acquisition costs for installation acquisition. DISCLAIMER The purpose of this RFI is to obtain information about market information or capabilities for planning purposes as defined in FAR 15.201(e). Responses to this notice are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. Participants are advised that only Air Force Contracting Officers are legally authorized to commit the Government to the obligation of funds. Participants are solely responsible for all expenses associated with responding to this RFI. For copyright purposes, participants are also advised that submitting a response implies express permission for the Government to use the data, pictures, and other information contained in the submittal. We highly encourage all interested industry partners to provide a complete and thorough response to this RFI, however not responding will not preclude participation should a solicitation be released. Please monitor the Federal Business Opportunities (www.fbo.gov) website for future information pertaining to this potential requirement. Verbal questions will NOT be accepted, accordingly, responses shall NOT contain proprietary or classified information. The Air Force will not accept or acknowledge: e-mails over 1MB, brochures, samples, catalogs or any other marketing information. Please note that the government will not be responsible for any costs incurred by interested parties in responding to this RFI.
