Description
8(a) SMALL BUSINESS MULITIPLE AWARD TASK ORDER CONTRACT (MATOC) AND TASK ORDER 0001 - LEFT UPSTREAM BLANKET REPAIRS & RIGHT ABUTMENT DRAINS, PIPESTEM DAM, ND. On or about 16 April 2012, this office will issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) for a wide range of design-build and construction services at sites primarily in Montana and North Dakota to include buildings, structures, and/or site work. This will be a Multiple Award Task Order Contract (MATOC) with up to five (5) 8(a) Small Business awards with a shared capacity of $49,000,000. The minimum guarantee amount for the 5 year performance period is $10,000. Work completed under this contract lies within NAICS Code 236220, Commercial and Institutional Building Construction. The small business size standard for this NAICS Code is $33.5M. The solicitation will close on or about 16 May 2012. Performance and payment bonds will be required on a task order basis. This solicitation is RESTRICTED TO 8(a) SMALL BUSINESS PARTICIPATION. As part of this solicitation, Task Order No. 0001 will be awarded to the Offeror deemed to be the best value. Task Order No. 0001 is Left Upstream Blanket Repairs & Right Abutment Drains, Pipestem Dam, ND. Provisions in the solicitation documents will provide site visit information 'meeting place, time, points of contact, and access requirements'. Task Order No. 0001 Description: (Approx. quantities) The work shall consist of placement of compacted earth fill to restore a seepage blanket and placement of approximately 2500 ton of riprap on the upstream face of the dam to protect the underlying seepage blanket. New drain installation, approximately 1100 feet, is required to effectively control seepage pressures in the downstream right abutment area. The drainage system should reduce the seepage and provide access to the area for surveillance and intervention. Work may include open cut trenching and cutting through glacial drift materials. The estimated construction cost of Task Order No. 0001 is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. For Task Order No. 0001, the Contractor will be required to commence work within 10 days after notice to proceed. Performance and payment bonds will be required. Provisions will be included for liquidated damages in case of failure to complete the work in the time allowed. Bonding documents including the power of attorney shall bear an original signature by an officer of the surety.
