Description
SOF AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE SQUADRON FACILITY, CANNON AIR FORCE BASE, CURRY COUNTY, NEW MEXICO. The proposed procurement is a Small Business Set-Aside Best Value Tradeoff Request For Proposal (RFP), and thus open to small businesses only. NAICS is 236220/SIC 1541, with a size standard of $33,500,000.00. The magnitude of construction for this project will be between $10,000,000.00 and $25,000,000.00. Bonding will be required for this acquisition. Offerors attention is directed to Section 00100 in the Solicitation for information regarding the tour of the site. Plans will be issued on or about 16 April 2012, with proposals due on or about 26 May 2011. Offerors are advised that this requirement may be delayed, cancelled, or revised at any time during the solicitation, or final award process, and is subject to the availability of funds. THE PROJECT consists of construction of two steel frame structures with a concrete foundation and floor slab, masonry walls and sloped metal roof. One facility is two story Aircraft Maintenance Squadron (AMXS) facility designed to accommodate management functions in support of all C-130 aircraft. Functional space areas include offices for plans, scheduling and documentation, maintenance officer, maintenance supervisor, maintenance control area, material control, quality control, records and analysis, field service representatives, Air Force Engineering and Technical Services (AFETS) area and command suite for the maintenance commanders and staff. The second facility (not co-located with the AMXS) is a General Purpose Maintenance Facility (GPMX) designed to accommodate two maintenance areas, support offices, and tool checkout area. The General Purpose Maintenance Facility also includes outdoor equipment storage areas. The Project also includes an aircraft ground equipment (AGE) yard and forward staging area located on the flight line. Other aspects of this project include utilities, parking, communication system and all other necessary support. THE PROJECT will be advertised as a Request for Proposal. Competitive proposals will be evaluated based on the evaluation criteria set forth in the solicitation package. Evaluation by the Government will result in selection of a firm that represents the best value to the Government. The proposed procurement will result in a firm-fixed price contract.
