- Description
- This is a justification required under the authority of the “HIV/AIDS Expedited Procedures Package” (HIV/AIDS EPP) to acquire services relating to medical male circumcision activity in South Africa. To provide services relating to medical male circumcision activity in South Africa. USAID/South Africa's key strategic objective is to assist the South African Government (SAG) to reduce the impact of HIV/AIDS and to provide better health care for historically disadvantaged South Africans through the targeted provision of MMC. The mission's strategic HIV MMC Program, in line with the overall national HIV/AIDS Strategic Plan for South Africa, 2007-2011, has the following strategic objectives: 1. To provide high quality, high volume, high efficiency, voluntary MMC services in KwaZulu Natal, Gauteng, Mpumalanga, and Free State provinces to approximately 125,000 males aged 15-49 by building on existing USAID-supported MMC sites; and 2. To provide technical assistance to provinces and districts to ensure successful start-up of well placed, high volume, high quality government MMC sites that can be sustained through public funding.
