- The purpose of this contract is to conduct a statistically sound cruise using the variable-radius plot method, as provided in the Forest Service Handbook 2409.12 Chapter 35: Point Sampling, to provide the Government with collected timber cruise data to facilitate the timber sale appraisal process. This contract requires the work to be in compliance with its terms, specifications, and provisions. This includes furnishing labor, equipment, supervision, transportation, operating supplies, and incidentals.

- Address: The project area is located on The Tonka Project Area is approximately two air miles southwest of Petersburg, Alaska, on the southern portion of Lindenberg peninsula, Kupreanof Island and accessed from the Tonka Log Transfer Facility. The project area is within Townships 58, 59, 60 and 61 south and Ranges 77, 78, and 79 East, Copper River Meridian.. The project area is accessed by air transportation or boat from Petersburg, AK. Work locations are accessible from the existing road system starting at the Tonka Log Transfer Facility. The Forest Service assumes no obligation to plow snow or do special maintenance to keep roads open during the life of this contract. Individual units are accessible by some combination of 2- or 4-wheel drive vehicle, mountain bicycle, or foot travel., Petersburg, Alaska, 99833, United States
