Description
The Department of Transportation, U.S. Maritime Administration's Division of Atlantic Operations intends to solicit quotations for a shipyard to perform a United States Coast Guard Dry-dock Exam, Internal Structural Exam in accordance with 46 CFR Part 61 and an American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) Special Periodical Survey. The T.S. KENNEDY is the training ship of the Massachusetts Maritime Academy. All work performed by the Contractor shall serve to accomplish the requirements of 46 CFR Part 61 and ABS Rules 7-3-2/5 as they relate to the various ITEMs in the Statement of Work (SOW). The primary purpose of this Solicitation is to accomplish the following: A USCG Drydock Exam and Internal Structural Exam in accordance with 46 CFR Part 61. An ABS Special Periodical Survey #9 for a Non-ESP Cargo Ship (non-tanker, which is greater than 15 years of age) Other ITEMs in the SOW serve to perform various machinery, equipment and/or structural repairs, removals, and/or installations in addition to various coating repairs. Performance/Availability Period: The ship shall be available for work performance on or about 28 May 2012 with a completion date sufficient to return the ship back to Buzzards Bay, MA no later than 2 July 2012. The complete solicitation package will be posted on this website on or about March 30, 2012. A ship check will be conducted at onboard the T.S. KENNEDY at Massachusetts Maritime Academy, Buzzards Bay, MA at 0900 hours on April 10, 2012. ATTENTION: Small and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs)! The Department of Transportation (DOT), Short-Term Lending Program (STLP) offers working capital financing in the form of lines of credit to finance accounts receivable for transportation related contracts. The Maximum line of credit is $750,000. The STLP loan has a variable rate, which is connected to the prime rate.
