Description
On or about 06 April 2012, this office will issue Invitations for Bid for construction of the Overlay Existing Asphalt, Pipestem Project, Jamestown, ND. The solicitation will close on or about 08 May 2012. This solicitation is RESTRICTED TO SMALL BUSINESS PARTICIPATION A tentative site visit date has been scheduled for 17 April 2012 at 10:30 am. Contractors interested in attending the site visit shall make reservations with Dave Beck at 701-654-7411 X238 or email at David.D.Beck@usace.army.mil. Contractors are to meet at the Pipestem Project Office located North of Jamestown. DO NOT submit requests for plans and specifications to the site visit personnel listed above. See 'Obtaining Solicitation Documents' below. _______________________________________________________________________________ Project Description: (Approx. quantities) The Omaha District Army Corps of Engineers proposes to overlay 3270 LF (24' Wide) of existing asphalt access road from Hwy 85 to the Pipestem office approach. An additional 370 LF of asphalt road and 923 SY's of asphalt parking lot will receive the proposed two (2) inches of hot-mix asphalt overlay. The existing access road was constructed in 1999 with two (2) inches of hot-mix asphalt. Ruts or soft yielding spots of underlying course or areas of inadequate compaction may need to be patched (approximately 30SY) prior to application of 2" overlay. Total Estimate of 10,940 SYD Asphalt to be overlaid. The estimated construction cost of this project is between$100,000 and $250,000. _______________________________________________________________________________ The Contractor will be required to commence work within 10 days after notice to proceed and complete the work 180 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Provisions will be included for liquidated damages in case of failure to complete the work in the time allowed. Performance and payment bonds will be required. Bonding documents including the power of attorney shall bear an original signature by an officer of the surety. Representations and certifications are required to be updated annually as a minimum to keep information current, accurate and complete. The electronic annual representations and certifications are effective until one year from date of submission or update to ORCA.
