- NASA Dryden Flight Research Center (DFRC) plans to issue a Request for Proposal(RFP) to compete the contract requirements for the Stratospheric Observatory for InfraredAstronomy (SOFIA)aircraft galley. The purpose of this requirement is to complete design,fabrication, installation support, test and verification of SOFIA galley. The SOFIAaircraft is located at Dryden Aircraft Operations Facility (DAOF), located in Palmdale,California.The contractor shall design the galley in the main cabin to include:1) Two ACE 9602 refrigerator with approximately 6.6 cubic feet of interior space each (orequivalent)2) Space and electrical connections for two TIA Wave Jet Microwave ovens (or equivalent)3) Space and electrical connections for two TIA Galley Products 1603 Beverage makers (nobeverage makers will be provided by this Statement of Work)4) Storage for dry goods, such as cups and beverage making supplies 5) Trash cart capable of holding a plastic bag with a capacity of at least 13 gallons6) Portable water dispenser with associated sink. Drain diameter shall be 1 inch. Sinkshall have removable strain.7) Food prep countertop and associated LED under counter lighting8) Integrated paper towel dispense capable of holding 300 C-Fold paper towels9) Integrated small compartment next to beverage makers for storing coinsThis procurement is a total small business set-aside. The NAICS Code and Size Standardare 488190 and $7M, respectively. The Government intends to acquire commercial items using FAR Part 12 and 15.The anticipated release date of NND12422720Q is on Thursday, April 12, 2012 with ananticipated proposal due date of Monday, May 14, 2012All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency.NASA Clause 1852.215-84, Ombudsman, is applicable.
