- Annex-3: Bangladesh - Industry Profile Sector Selection Report Annex-2: Standard Indicators Annex-1: Assessment of the Improved Stove Market in Bangladesh Solicitation/Request for Proposal (RFP) The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Bangladesh is issuing this Request for Proposals (RFP) for a five-year project entitled Catalyzing Clean Energy in Bangladesh (CCEB) to support energy sector development for energy security, economic growth, and climate change mitigation. Building on the work and achievements of the USAID/Bangladesh's Improved Capacity for Energy Access (ICEA) activity (2008-2011), CCEB will work with the BERC, GOB ministries and agencies, energy utilities, and energy end-users for strengthening regulatory climate, increasing energy efficiency and promoting clean energy development through technical assistance, capacity building, and incentive programs. Activities under CCEB will support capacity building through technical assistance and training of the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources and other recipient institutions for the development and implementation of the Bangladesh Climate Change Strategy and Action Plan (BCCSAP) and future low emission development strategies in the energy sector pursuant to the U.S. Government Initiative on "Enhancing Capacity for Low Emission Development Strategies" (EC-LEDS). CCEB will enhance the enabling environment, build capacity to design and implement supportive policies and regulations, and increase utilization of clean energy technologies for energy sector development on a low-carbon trajectory. *Proposal Submission Deadline for this RFP is May 15, 2012, 1400 Bangladesh Local Time.
