Description
Sources Sought This is a Sources Sought Synopsis. The U.S. Air Force is conducting a search for the capability to produce a CBU-105(D-2)/B load crew trainer system. A CBU-105(D-2)/B is a completely inert system containing ballast to simulate the weight and CG of a tactical system. The trainer consists of an inert SUU-66 Tactical Munitions Dispenser (TMD) body, a dummy FZU-39(D-2) proximity sensor, an inert TMD Fuze Assembly, an inert Wind Corrected Munitions Dispenser (WCMD) tail, and mass simulated ballast payload. There is no Government furnished equipment available for this effort. A Technical Data Package for the top level CBU-105(D-2)/B, simulated ballast payload, and inert WCMD tail is not available from the Government. The contractor is responsible to provide all personnel, services, facilities, and materials to produce a CBU-105(D-2)/B load crew trainer system. Information Sought: Interested companies are encouraged to respond to this announcement as soon as possible with a notice of interest and response information. In the response, companies should provide a summary of their capabilities and their ability to meet the requirements above. Responses should include: a. Name and address of the contractor and where the system would be produced b. Point of contact including name, title, phone and e-mail address c. Size of the contractor and the number of employees d. Description of similar activities offered by the contractor that currently meet, or with modifications, might meet the above listed requirements e. Indication of an understanding of safety requirements f. The estimated lead time to produce a CBU-105(D-2)/B system g. Whether the business is currently classified as a Large, Small, Small Disadvantaged, 8(a) and/or Woman Owned company, veteran owned small business, or service disabled veteran owned small business. Where to Submit: Submissions should be sent via e-mail (preferred), or fax. E-mail submissions may include files in Microsoft Word format or Adobe Acrobat (*.pdf) format. When to Submit: Notices of intent/response should be submitted no later than 10 working days from the date of this notice. Notice Regarding Solicitation: Please note that this synopsis is for information purposes and to identify potential sources. This notice does not constitute an Invitation for Bid or Request for Proposal and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. Respondents deemed fully qualified will be considered in any resulting future solicitation. Notice Regarding Proprietary Information: All submitted materials will be designated for Government Use Only. Other: No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this announcement and any follow up information requests
