- EPA Region 7 seeks to procure Herman Miller Furniture and Installation Services as prescribed in the attached Statement of Work. This is a combined/solicitation for commercial services prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation number SOL-R7-12-00018 is applicable and is issued as a Request For Quotes (RFQ). The solicitation and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through the most current Federal Acquisition Circular to date. The requirement is unrestricted under NAIC Code 337214 Office Furniture Manufacturing. BRAND NAME JUSTIFICATION: EPA Region 7 is currently located at 901 N. 5th Street in Kansas City, Kansas. Our office is scheduled to relocate to a new facility located at 11201 Renner Blvd, Lenexa, KS, in the near future. The prior tenant abandoned, and EPA has accepted a substantial quantity of Herman Miller furniture. This requirement will supplement the existing furniture obtained by the EPA as abandoned property from a prior lease tenant. Use of the abandoned property will result in significant savings by the Government in reprocurement costs. Supplementing the existing furniture through a Herman Miller name brand procurement is required to ensure that Region 7 has the flexibility to reconfigure components of the existing furniture, ensure compatibility of furniture reuse to meet the needs of the Agency.
