- THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. This is a notice of intent to award a sole source set forth in Federal Acquisition Regulation Part 13.106-1(b)(1), only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirement; unique supplies or services available from only one source or only one supplier with unique capabilities. The United States Army requires the purchase of a blast deflector behind a high engine run-up (Trim-Pad) at Kandahar, Afghanistan. The blast deflector surface should be roughly 115-120 ft wide and be 12 ft in height. It will mainly be used for various other types of Aircrafts. The CENTCOM Contracting Command - Reachback (C3R) intends to make an award to Blast Deflector, Inc (BDI) 8620 Technology Way, Reno, Nevada 89521. Interested parties may email dellaria.l.martin.mil@mail.mil no later 23 Mar 2012 0900 a.m. CST. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 13.106. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement prior to 23 Mar 2012 at 0900 a.m. CST. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received is considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
