Description

The Salem VAMC has a need for interactive computers for on-site Senior Living Communities, brand name or equal to therapy systems offered by It's Never 2 Late. The computers would offer monitors with touchscreen capabilities and adaptive input equipment. The system software would contain therapy software which would provide activities for occupational therapy, physical therapy and speech therapy. The software may also offer exercise videos or simulators such as flight simulators or bicycle simulators. Interactive games to include but not be limited to memory games, word games, and puzzles would be available through the system, either through an internet connection or pre-loaded. The system would stream/download/contain classic commercials and television shows and videos for dementia and Alzheimer's patients. Residents would have the capability of recording/documenting their own history during multiple sessions. The system should have the capability to be customized to each resident, and the content would be designed and loaded remotely through an internet connection. Finally, the system should be mobile, i.e. mounted to a cart. Vendors must indicate if they are an authorized reseller or if the vendor is the creator/author/manufacturer of the software used to deliver the product. Please send information regarding systems that conform to all or some of the requirements above, as well as the published MSRP for the product. This is not a request for bids, quotes, or proposals. This is a SOURCES SOUGHT announcement only. The purpose of this notice is to conduct market research and obtain information from qualified businesses. The responses to this announcement will assist in determining the socio-economic set aside if feasible. The Veterans Administration is required by Public Law 104-9 to give first priority to SDVOSB and VOSB concerns if there should be sufficient firms available to compete under a set aside. If insufficient veteran owned and small business response is received to establish the basis for setting this action aside for other than large business participation then the action will be advertised as full and open competition, in which case, all interested parties responding shall be eligible to bid. This notice shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government to ultimately award a contract, nor does it restrict the Government to a particular acquisition approach. All information submitted in response to this announcement is voluntary; the Government will not pay for information requested nor will it compensate any respondent for any cost incurred in developing information provided to the Government. Vendors are requested to respond to the requirements stated above and submit electronic (email) statements stating which medical centers they are capable of providing service to, POC information, business size, and SBA business classification(s) no later than March 23, 2012. All responses and questions shall be sent to Amy Pitts, Amy.Pitts@va.gov. The NAICS Code is 334111, and the size standard is 1000 employees.
