- Description
- The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to award to Bell-Boeing Joint Program Office, Amarillo, TX a sole-source delivery order under Basic Ordering Agreement N00019-12-G-0006 for V-22 upgrades to Proprotor Gearbox. Bell-Boeing will perform Bearing Liner Improvement Non-Recurring Engineering, resulting in the reduction of wear to Proprotor Gearbox. The three bearing liners within the Proprotor Gearbox have shown signs of heavy wear due to fretting between the bearing and the liner. The effort is estimated to be complete by 30 November 2012. These requirements will be procured in accordance with FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Bell-Boeing is the sole developer, designer, manufacturer of the V-22 aircraft. As such, Bell-Boeing is the only responsible source with the necessary access to the technical data and requisite expertise to perform the contemplated effort with the required schedule.
