- Statement of Work This acquisition will be processed under FAR Part 12 - Acquisitions for Commercial Items and will be made pursuant to the authority of Far 13/105-1(b)(1) to use Simplified Acquisitions procedure for commercial items. This is a Notice of Intent for commercial items. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are not being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number for this acquisition is NIH-OLAO-OA5-NOI2470014 and is being issued as a Notice of Intent, under the authority of FAR Subpart 6.302-1, 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1) Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The anticipated award date is March 26, 2012. This acquisition will be processed under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) and is a small business set-aside. The associated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code 811310, which has a size dollar standard of $7.0 million. The National Institutes of Health, Office of the Director, Office of Logistics and Acquisitions Operations, on the behalf of National Eye Institute, intends to procure on a sole source basis from Kinetics Hydro, Inc., a Annual Preventive Maintenance Contract for Cage Wash. This maintenance contract is used to provides animal care services to five additional laboratories located on the NIH Bethesda campus at Building 49 Central Animal Facility (CAF) on the following. (1) Somat Pulper #1, Model #SP-75S, Serial #7427-1; (2) Somat Pulper #2, Model #SP-75S, Serial #8022-1E; (3) Somat Extractor, Model #HE-9S, Serial #8022-5; (4) Basil Tunnel Washer, Model #SL6048, Serial #91-4920; (5) Basil Tunnel Washer, Model #6036; (6)Basil Rack Washer, Model #RW4600, Serial #91-4922; (7) Basil Rack Washer, Model #RW4601, Serial #91-4923 and (8) Liability for Parts. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, the Government will consider responses submitted. Responses must be submitted no later than 10:00 AM Eastern Standard Time (EST), March 26, 2012 to Ms. Shirlene Smith. For delivery through the Postal Service, the address is NIH/OD/OLAO/OA Simplified Acquisitions - Branch 5, 6011 Executive Blvd, Suite 629C, MSC 7663, Rockville, MD 20852. Electronic submission will be accepted ( ssmith@od.nih.gov ). All information furnished must be in writing and must contain sufficient detail to allow the government to determine if it can meet the above specifications described herein. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
