- Description
- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Pittsburgh District, is providing notice that it will award a contract to The Nature Conservancy (TNC) to perform the Monongahela River Basin Ecosystem Flow Study in portions of PA, WV, and MD. The USACE Pittsburgh District is in the process of updating the Water Control Manuals for its reservoir projects. This study will be held on reservoir operations at Stonewall Jackson Lake, Tygart Lake, and Youghiogheny River Lake. The Monongahela River Basin Ecosystem Flow Study PA, WV, and MD will include portions of the Monongahela River that has already been performed in a study by TNC. As part of the update process the Pittsburgh District requires the use of the Indicators of Hydraulic Alteration (IHA) statistical analysis software. This software was specifically developed by scientists at TNC to facilitate hydraulic analysis in an ecologically-meaningful manner and IHA software is not available for commercial use. Based on the information provided, the agency will not entertain or evaluate any offers from responsible sources to provide a proposal.
