- ***The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), with American Dental Association Foundation, Paffenbarger Research Center (ADAF/PRC) in Chicago, IL for the procurement of Biological Calcium Hydroxyapatite (Ca Ha).*** ADAF/PRC preciously produced Ca Ha (SRM 2910 and 2910a) for NIST using the solution chemistry approach. This approach is used to control the exact composition and phase of the product. The Ca Ha must be produced using the identical approach to ensure the consistency of the SRMs. A sources sought was posted on February 24, 2012 and closed on March 05, 2012. ADAF/PRC was the only company identified though market research that could produce the Ca Ha using the identical approach. ***Delivery shall be FOB Destination, Gaithersburg, MD, and is required within 90 days after receipt vial labels.*** ***The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 325998, and the size standard is 500 employees.*** ***No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, the Government will consider responses received by March 22, 2012.*** A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
