Description
Redacted Justification & Approval Document The United States Air Force, ASC/Operational Contracting Division, Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio 45433-5344. This is a Sole Source synopsis published for informational purposes only. This proposed action is for the procurement of instrumentation, reagents, collections kits, consumables, and maintenance of analyzers in support of Chlamydia trachomatis and Neisseria gonorrhea testing the government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. This proposed procurement will be a Sole Source under North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) 325413. Size standard is 500 employees. The proposed source is Gen-Probe Inc., 10210 Genetic Center Dr., San Diego, CA, 92121. The instrumentation and supplies must meet the critical requirements of: Pre-Analytical: No Pre-processing of specimens Performance: Must be able to test for Chlamydia trachomatis and Neisseria gonorrhea(CT/NG) in urine specimens Must have automated ability to remove interfering substances Must have the ability to test both swab and urine specimens Must have the ability of confirmatory testing on same platform targeting alternate sequence Must have positive sample ID tracking Automation: Must have individual reagent run size flexibility without reagent waste Must have automated reagent tracking Must have the ability to handle high workload, a minimum of 1000 reagents/ 8.5hour shift. The Gen-Probe Inc's Tigris DTS System instruments, maintenance services, consumables, reagents, and collection kits are the only known items that satisfy the critical requirements. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. However, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, quotation or exception to the intent to purchase on a sole source basis, which shall be considered by the Government if received within five (5) days of this notice. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The Department of Defense (DoD) has determined the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) to be the single DoD registration for contractors who conduct business or who are interested in conducting business with the DoD.
