- The FAA is seeking experienced firms to furnish and install new mechanically-fastened TPO membrane roofing system at the Chicago ARTCC, Aurora, Illinois. Work consists of but is not limited to the following:1. Re-roofing of the Generator Room (110 - Low Roof) and Mechanical Room (201 - High Roof) of the Power Service Building (nominal dimensions: 32' x 65' and 36' x 92' - including removal of the existing roofing membrane and insulation, and installation of an 80 mil, mechanically-attached roofing membrane with insulation, flashings, counter flashings, sealants, adhesives and other components.2. Provide roof anchor restraints and walkway pads.3. Other work as required on the project reference drawings and in the specifications.Option 1 - Provide approximately 420 lineal feet of portable guard rail system along all exposed roof edges of the Generator Room and the Mechanical Room of the Power Service Building. Provide system complete with bonding jumpers to existing lightning protection.Option 2 - Provide one (1) base lifter/mover Manufacturer Qualifications: A qualified manufacturer that is UL listed and FM Approvals approved for membrane roofing system identical to that used for this Project. Installer Qualifications: A qualified firm that is approved, authorized, or licensed by membrane roofing system manufacturer to install manufacturer's product and that is eligible to receive manufacturer's special warranty.Inspector Qualifications: Provide qualifications of a roofing consultant who shall be responsible for field quality control. Inspector shall be an independent testing and field quality control professional with a minimum 5 years experience in similar project size, complexity and system to conduct testing indicated. Offer range is between $50,000 and $100,000 with a performance time of approximately 90 calendar days. Construction start is anticipated for May/June 2012. Interested firms must submit a letter or certificate of TPO certification and a list of projects completed using this roofing system in order to receive the Request for Offer package. Provide owner name with phone number, date performed, and dollar amount., Interested firms should provide a letter of interest NO LATER THAN MARCH 21, 2012 via email to melody.mcgovern@faa.gov or fax to 847/294-7801. The Request For Offer is anticipated to be available by April 2012. This Notice is for informational purposes for Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization, has a program to assist small businesses, small businesses owned and controlled by a socially and economically disadvantaged individuals, and women-owned concerns to acquire short-term working capital assistance for transportation-related contracts. Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $750,000.
