- The United States Coast Guard Maintenance & Logistics Command, Atlantic intends to issue a Commercial Request for Quote (RFQ) for Dockside Repairs to the USCGC MACKINAW (WLBB 30). The acquisition will be solicited as a Hub-zone Set-Aside. The Coast Guard intends to conduct the procurement in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items. The solicitation will be issued as a Best Value, Request for Quote (RFQ), on or about March 15, 2012. The solicitation will be issued electronically on the FEDBIZOPPS web page at http://www.fedbizopps.gov. It is incumbent upon contractors to monitor the FEDBIZOPS web page for RFQ release and all subsequent amendments. Please sign up for the Auto Notification service to receive e-mail from FEDBIZOPPS when an action is taken under this solicitation. A CD-ROM containing all applicable drawings will be sent via U.S. mail, if requested. Send all requests via e-mail sandra.a.martinez@uscg.mil..The acquisition is for Dockside repairs to the USCGC MACKINAW (WLBB 30), and is home ported in CHEBOYGAN, MI. All work will be performed at the hompier. The performance period is Thirty (30) calendar days with a start date on or about 09 August 2012 to 07 September 2012. This work will include, but is not limited to: 1: Tanks (MP Fuel Stowage and Overflow), Clean and Inspect, 2: Tanks (Potable Water), Clean and Inspect, 3: Tanks (Lube Oil), Clean and Inspect, 4: Vent Ducts (Galley and Pantry Room All), Commercial Cleaning, 5: Fixed CO2 Cylinders, Weight & Test, 6: Galley APC System, Test, Service, Renew Fuse-Able Link, 7: Reefer System Piping Insulation, Renew, 8: Tanks (Fuel), Preserve '100%', 9: Tanks (Fuel), Preserve 'Partial', 10: Tanks (Potable Water), Preserve '100%', 11: Tanks (Potable Water), Preserve 'Partial', 12: Main Diesel Generator (MDG) Exhaust Stack Uptakes, Clean and Inspect. All welding and brazing shall be accomplished by Trained welders, who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualification procedures, shall accomplish all welding and brazing. All reference documents are available for viewing at 300 East Main Street, Suite 500, Norfolk, VA 23510-9102. Drawings are now available on CD-ROM. The CD-ROM sets are available for all cutters and will be free of charge to contractors upon request [ten days from solicitation issuance]. MLCA must have ten (10) days advance notice to complete a CD-ROM set of drawings. The CD-ROM(s) contain WINDOWS compliant raster/vector formats (e.g.*.DWF, etc).
