- NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD ON A SOLE-SOURCE BASIS Pursuant to FAR 6.302-1 Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) intends to award a sole-source contract to Telonics Inc., in Messa, AZ to provide 45 Platform Terminal Satellite Transmitters (33 implantable platform terminal transmitter (PTT) satellite tracking tags each weighing 42g, having a transmitting duration of 1,400 hours and 12 external PTTs each weighing 29g, having a transmitting duration of 930 hours.) All 45 PTTs must contain software to support multiple duty cycles in a calendar year format. Telonics Inc. PTTs have been reported as having a high reliability based on field experiments with similar diving marine bird species, a light weight for the number of hours of transmission time that the units provide, and can be configured for both of the attachment methods (sterile implants and external tail feather taping) required for the project. This is not a solicitation for quotations, but rather a notice of the Agencys intent to make a sole-source award to Telonics Inc.. There will be no solicitation issued or available.
