Description

Redacted Justification and Approval This contract provides for the operation and maintenance of M/V ALAKAI and M/V HUAKAI. The Contractor provides qualified ship officers and crew, operational and technical support (ashore and afloat), equipment, tools, provisions, to operate and maintain the vessels. This contract is a bridge contract between the previous contract and the contract resulting from the follow-on solicitation. A follow-on solicitaion (N00033-12-R-5302) using full and open competition will be issued. The follow-on solicitation is in the acquisition planning stage. It is anticipated that this procurement will be awarded in 8 to 12 months. This contract is necessary to provide enough time for the follow-on solicitation to be awarded. This contract includes a six-month firm period and two three month options, which will be exercised in accordance with FAR 52.217-9 (OPTION TO EXTEND THE TERM OF THE CONTRACT).
