- The Library of Congress intends to post a Request for Proposals (RFP) for OCLC Network Training Services for the LC/FEDLINK Program. Respondents to this solicitation shall provide training in OCLC systems and products in the core service areas defined in standard OCLC/Network agreements, to include: OCLC communications and access methods; searching the OCLC WorldCat database, authority files, reference databases, and other files; performing copy cataloging, original cataloging, and interlibrary loan via the system; and administering OCLC services such as FirstSearch. Classes shall refer to current OCLC standards and documentation, use current OCLC software, and incorporate hands-on practice in live OCLC systems whenever possible. Training shall be conducted in the Network's facilities, which shall be fully equipped to access OCLC systems. Instructors shall be familiar with OCLC systems and procedures, knowledgeable in the standards and practices of librarianship, and able to communicate effectively with students of different backgrounds and levels of expertise. Vendors are responsible for ensuring that all RFP amendments are received prior to submittal of proposals. Please check this site periodically for amendments or clarifications to the RFP.
