- Synopsis: This is a notice of intent by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to contract with FiberGate, Inc., 6076-C Franconia Rd. Alexandria, VA 22310; on a sole source basis to complete a dark fiber connection between FDA White Oak Campus' Cherry Hill Entrance and FDA White Oak Building 130. This requirement is a continuation of service that was started last year by FiberGate. FDA was not ready with the building at the time of installation so FiberGate left the fiber run and terminated it on a telephone pole near the building. Now that the building is ready, FDA is now ready to connect. The existing dark fiber is the sole property of FiberGate, Inc. There is no other known existing dark fiber line between these two locations. The services required are available from only one responsible source and no other type of services will satisfy agency requirements. This notice is not a request for competitive quotes; no solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be accepted. However, sources may submit descriptive literature, fully documenting their capability to perform these services, which will be considered by the Agency. A determination to compete this procurement based on response(s) to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. A solicitation will be issued to FiberGate, Inc. no less than 15 calendar days after the date of this notice unless the Government determines otherwise.
