Description

United States Department of Veterans Affairs Rocky Mountain Network, NCO 19 4100 East Mississippi Avenue, Suite 900 Denver, Colorado 80246-3055 Notice: Sole-Source Announcement 1.The Grand Junction VAMC, Colorado intends to negotiate sole-source acquisition with Maquet, Inc “ Getinge Group to provide services and materials to disconnect, dismantle as necessary, remove and reinstall in new location, Getinge-Castle Surgical Light assemblies and associated Dimmer Control equipment. Procurement of these services will support Activation of the new 3rd Floor Surgery Suite Addition. Activation is dependent upon the relocation of all existing equipment, materials, and supplies from the present 6th Floor Surgery Department to the new 3rd Floor Surgery Suite Addition. Relocation of existing surgery lights requires the assistance of MAQUET certified and factory-trained technicians who are familiar with MAQUET lighting products. MAQUET will ensure reinstallation and functional operation of MAQUET Surgery lights meet the manufacturer ™s specifications. MAQUET will also be available to evaluate the relocated light and make any upgrade suggestions that may be necessary to insure maximum utilization of the light in its new location. The equipment to be relocated as part of this acquisition are MAQUET manufactured equipment (proprietary). Also, there is an unusual and compelling urgency to award this contract. In order to activate the newly constructed 3rd Floor Surgery Suite, MAQUET equipment must be relocated and made operable within the new facility. The new 3rd Floor Addition is scheduled for Activation on Tuesday, March 27, 2012. Immediate activation of this new facility benefits both the VA and its customers, the veterans. Importantly, the VA will be able to maintain the best level of operation for the tax-payers dollar; servicing a hard use medical system involving proprietary surgery light systems; assuring cradle-to-grave continuity of maintenance tied to equipment warranty, thus enabling the Veteran Administration Medical Center in providing the most effective care for its patients. Interested offerors may identify their interest and capability to meet the requirements by providing a capability statement and qualification which must contain specific information on supplying this type of service. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all capability statements received within seven (7) days after the submission date of this sole-source announcement will be considered by the Government.
