- Extra Bid Sheet Return Package Attachment Exhibit Form 3 Attachment Exhibit Form 2 Solicitation Cover Sheet The Forest Service is in need of hazardous fuel reduction and stand improvement activities to reduce the tree density and improve the overall health and condition of the stand based on the prescribed objectives. Tree selection and cutting of undesirable or excess trees will provide space for the leave trees to grow and develop, reduce the incidence of insect and diseases that affect growth, and undesirable tree qualities. The activities are designed to reduce ladder fuels thus reducing potential for crown replacing wildland fires, in timber stands. The goal of these projects are to reduce the possibility of a stand replacing fire burning through the units with lethal consequences to the mature overstory while providing a uniform fuel bed to burn in more desirable conditions. These projects will leave the dominant, co-dominant and intermediate conifer trees intact. This solicitation is for slashing, lopping, scattering and/or piling activities on the Townsend Ranger District and/or Helena Ranger District and/or Lincoln Ranger District of the Helena National Forest and/or the White Sulphur Springs Ranger District, and/or Belt Creek Ranger District, and/or Musselshell Ranger District, and/or Judith Ranger District, and/or the Rocky Mountain Ranger District of the Lewis and Clark National Forest. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, supervision, transportation, supplies, and incidentals to perform all work necessary on the areas specified. All aspects of the work program shall be performed in an organized, systematic manner to assure services will be performed over the entire unit. This solicitation will result into a Performance Based, Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) Contract with optional year renewals.
