The disk is an extremely critical rotating component. Operationalfailure would be catastrophic resulting in loss of aircraft and or life.The data needed to acquire this part competitively is not physicallyavailable, it cannot be obtained economically, nor is it possible todraft adequate specifications or any other adequate, economicaldescription of the material for a competitive solicitation. Current qualified sources are: General Electric Corporation (Cage:07482), Authority: 10 U.S.C. 2304(C)(1), Justification: Supplies (orServices) required are available from only one or a limited number ofresponsible source(s) and no other type of supplies or services willsatisfy agency requirements. The proposed contract action is forsupplies in which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate withonly one, or a limited number of sources under authority of FAR 6.302.First Article may be required All proposals received within 45 days after date of publication of thissynopsis will be considered by the Government. A Determination by theGovernment not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses tothis notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.Information received will normally be considered solely for the purposeof determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
