- ARCHITECT-ENGINEERING (A/E) DESIGN SERVICES AMENDMENT: The description and/or statement of work of Project # 2 on the previously advertised announcement (VA247-12-R-0014) is removed in its entirety and replaced with the following: Project # 2 - Renovate Laboratory Area. The objective of this project is to renovate the current laboratory areas to provide an open design that is adaptable for new analytical equipment and arranged for efficient flow of the clinical and anatomical pathology procedures. This project will systematically renovate the entire 16,438 square foot are to include: general chemistry lab, hematology lab, histology lab, microbiology lab, autopsy and administration area. The design contractor will analyze the current layout and work flow of the existing lab complex. Drawings and specifications will be developed to convert the current floor plans to a more open and flexible facility using LEAN and energy efficient attributes. The new design will provide new distribution for water, electrical, HVAC, deionized water and hood exhaust systems. The design team will structure the plans in phases to allow the existing labs to function until they can move into their new facility. The design firm will also provide construction oversight services and will produce as-built drawings of the final construction project. The estimated construction cost for this renovation is $4,000,000.00. All other terms and conditions remain unchanged.
