- The Virginia Army National Guard is offering for sale approximately 75 bales of cardboard, 10 Gaylord boxes of paper (white, news, mixed) and 8 bales of shredded white paper. Material to be sold may be inspected by prospective bidders through Wednesday, 21 March 2012 at Building 2360, Fort Pickett, Blackstone, VA. Bid opening is 3:00 p.m. EST on Thursday, 22 March 2012. Bids will be opened at USPFO conference room, Bldg. 316, Fort Pickett, Blackstone, VA 23824. Forms for use in submitting a bid are attached. Terms and conditions of sale, procedures for submitting bids and a description of the materials are attached. Bids will be accepted by email, fax or mail. This sale will be sold by weight (ton). All material will be conveyed to the purchaser via written contract. The successful bidder is required to be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (www.ccr.gov) prior to award being made. A deposit is not required to submit a bid, however within three (3) business days of award, the successful contractor must provide an earnest money deposit of 10% of the total bid price to the Contracting Officer. This deposit will be held for the duration of the project. The contractor may remove materials up to the value of the deposit. These loads must be paid for within seven (7) calendar days of removal and before additional loads are removed. Final payment may either be made for the ful amount due, in which case the deposit check will be returned, or for the owed amount minus the deposit.
