Description
DESCRIPTION: This notice is not a solicitation. The solicitation for this project will be issued on or after March 30, 2012. The VAMC, Spokane, intends to award a firm fixed price construction contract to construct an Endoscopy suite and a Central Processing center. In accordance with VAAR 836.204, the magnitude range for this project is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000. In accordance with P.L. 109-461, 38 U.S.C. Section 8127, the procurement will be 100% set-aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB). SDVOSB firms must be listed in www.vetbiz.gov and must have the certified veteran enterprise (CVE) designation. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is General Commercial and Institutional Construction 236220 and the small business size standard is $33,500,000.00 in average annual receipts. The period of performance for the work is 575 calendar days after receipt of notice to proceed. The successful contractor is to provide all necessary equipment, labor, materials and supervision to construct two new second floor additions to Building 1 as well as remodel 1,200 square feet of existing space to act as an interface between existing areas and new construction. The Endoscopy addition will be approximately 6,000 square feet and the Central Processing addition will be approximately 9,000 square feet. The Central Processing addition includes expansion of the adjoining laboratory space. Work includes, but is not limited to selective demolition, limited site work, architectural, electrical, finishes, mechanical, plumbing, structural, and all other necessary construction elements as described in the specifications and drawings. The successful contractor will be responsible for all coordination, phasing and scheduling of the work required to complete contract performance. Coordination efforts may include other contractors performing work on-site as well as coordination of work with appropriate government personnel. The VA will consider all bids received in a timely manner from viable SDVOSB firms, meeting the criteria outlined above and in the forthcoming solicitation, and that are primarily engaged in this type of work.
