- Road Reconstruction Plans Timber Harvest Area Map Solicitation Package Letter to Interested Vendors The North Idaho/Montana Acquisition Team anticipates awarding the South Township Integrated Resource Stewardship Contract (IRSC) for work on the Red River Ranger District of the Nez Perce National Forest and on lands administered by the Bureau of Land Management, Cottonwood Field Office. The Federal law that authorizes the Forest Service to enter into "Stewardship" contracts is unique in that it allows to Forest Service to apply the value of timber removed as an offset against the cost of services received. The contract area includes the American River and Red River drainages just south of the town of Elk City, Idaho. The South Township project is primarily a hazardous fuels reduction project with sawtimber and non-sawtimber removal from approximately 169 acres with approximately 1.1 mile of temporary road construction and obliteration in order to facilitate timber removal. Estimated sawtimber volume is 4948 tons. Estimated non-sawtimber is 5560 tons. Complete details regarding volume and timber sale roadwork specifications are available in the solicitation. The service work for this stewardship project requires reconstruction of approximately 2.79 miles of access road. Estimated price range for the construction work is $25,000-$100,000. The complete solicitation was posted on this website March 6, 2012 along with all attachments referenced in Section J as well as a letter to interested vendors describing the Stewardship contracting process. This letter also provides general project information and instructions for vendors who may be unfamiliar with the procurement process. A pre-proposal conference will be held at the Nez Perce National Forest Supervisor's Office at 104 Airport Road in Grangeville, Idaho. Details on the date and time are included in the solicitation.
