Description
This procurement is being conducted under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) for commercially available items. Only one responsible source is reasonably available due to the fact that Philips Healthcare, a division of Philips Electronics North America Corporation, is the only manufacturer and retailer for this proprietary equipment. Currently the XXth Medical Group is using existing Philips hardware and software. This vendor is the original equipment manufacturer and the only source that can furnish the requirements to the exclusion of other sources (e.g. unique features, function of the item, direct replacement parts/components for existing equipment, patent, copyright and proprietary data). The procurement of the Philips C10-3v Purewave Broadband Transducer (2 ea.) and the L17-5 Broadband Linear Array Transducer (1 ea.) will significantly increase imaging clarity, decrease the number of repeat examinations, decrease exam time thereby increasing patient throughput and improve diagnostic accuracy of the interpreting radiologist. The purchase of the C10-3v transducers will replace existing C8-4v transducers and will better interface with the Vision software upgrade and optimize imaging. The L17-5 transducer will broaden the scope of exams available and will improve the musculoskeletal, breast and superficial ultraOlmd imaging. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is 334510 and the size standard is 500 employees. All responsible sources may submit a response. A determination by the Government to not compete this requirement will be based on responses to this notice and is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A solicitation will not be issued. Interested firms may identify their interest in writing to the Government point of contact. Responses to this notice must be received no later than 12:00 PM, EST, 6 March 2012. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. The point of contact for this action is Raymond Staniewski at raymond.j.staniewski.ctr@us.army.mil.
