Description

Notice of Intent. The U.S. Department of Agriculture, ARS, Stoneville, Mississippi, intends to award a sole source procurement to Illumina, Inc., 9885 Towne Centre Drive, San Diego, CA. 92121, for a service/maintenance agreement as they are the sole source for a Illumina HiSeq-2000 DNA Sequencer and cBot, pursuant to the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) and FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. The instrument is located at the USDA, ARS, MSA, 141 Experiment Station Road, Stoneville, Mississippi. The agreement includes repair or replacement of defective or malfunctioning components and includes a preventive maintenance visit, replacement of consumables due to a hardware failure and the availability of a loaner in case of the need of significant repairs. Includes comprehensive 5 x 24(1) email support and 5 x 18(2) telephone support (instrument, applications, bioinformatics); five business day average on-site response time, critical and non-critical hardware and software updates, applications support, access to on-line training modules, and discounts on optional advanced training programs. Period of performance will be from March 22, 2012 through March 21, 2013. The Government intends to award a firm fixed price Purchase Order on or about March 07, 2013, using Simplified Acquisition Procedures. This Notice of Intent is not considered a Request for Quotation (RFQ) nor is it a Request for Proposals (RFP). No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be honored. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The Government will consider all responses received by 4:00PM central time, March 06, 2012. Information received will be considered solely for determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
